School Closure (All pupils 5th January) - On-Line Learning
I hope you have been able to enjoy the holiday period. You will be aware from previous school communications that we were due back to school on Tuesday 5th January 2021.
Unfortunately, an ever-changing picture, which is impacting on our staffing availability has led to the difficult decision of closing the school for the initial week for all pupils (except for key workers and vulnerable children).
10/12/20
We have been advised by the DfE and LCC that in order to prevent Covid 19 track and trace issues, we should make Friday 18th December a staff inset day.
We would advise therefore, that the school will be closed to all children on Friday 18th December – the date to return to school is Tuesday 5th January 2021.
The last few months have been anxious and worrying for us all and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support this term.
On behalf of the governors and school staff I would like to wish you and your families a peaceful holiday.

Welcome Back Newsletter Steve Martin (Chair of Governors)
As the start of the new school term is fast approaching, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for working with the school over the past few months to provide children with continuity in their learning. The school governors have seen how hard school staff have been working over the summer to ensure that the school is as safe as possible for children to return next week. However, we do understand that there will be concerns about your children returning to school in these difficult circumstances. I hope the information in this newsletter along with the information and videos on the school website provide the reassurance you need. Read the full letter here...

Return Plan
At Herrick Primary School we are going to commit time during September to ensuring that routines, expectations, standards, relationships and values are quickly re-established. We will be focusing on 3 key priorities – Safety, Pastoral Care and Curriculum (each priority is then linked to 3 specific types of support). At the heart of these plans, getting children ‘back-on-track’ in both an academic and emotional sense is the absolute priority. Read the full letter here...
