PSHE Curriculum Statement
We at Herrick Primary School are proud to have supported and continue to promote and embed positive mental health and well-being. With the combination of our 'Being Me, Being Safe, Being Happy' ethos, the Jigsaw programme is delivered to support the teaching of PSHE and RSHE. Our children focus on the knowledge and understanding they need to make informed decisions about their well-being, health and relationships, and to build their resilience. These outcomes encompass our school core values and underpin our teaching and learning to prepare our pupils to be responsible citizens, respectful, resourceful and resilient.
We provide pupils with the knowledge, understanding, attitudes, values and skills they need in order to reach their potential as individuals and within the community. Also, we are confident that the Jigsaw Programme covers all aspects of Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) within the context of a full PSHE programme in an age-appropriate way. Our curriculum promotes an understanding of British Values and equality which aims to give every child at Herrick Primary School the best start to life.
